2015 Can-Am Outlander X mr Models First Look 0
Can-Am’s mud-boggin’ ATV, the Outlander X mr, is back in 2015 in the same 650 and 1000cc versions available the previous model year, as well as in an 800R version which splits the difference nicely. The 800R X mr has a Rotax 800 V-Twin which pumps out a claimed 71 horsepower and rolls on a Surrounding Spar Technology G2 frame the same size as the 650. The 800 R’s wheels and tires, however, are the same as used on the 1000 version; 14-inch cast aluminum shod in 30-inch Gorilla Axe Silver Back Tires.
As with the 1000 version, the 800R comes with a 3000-pound Warn Winch, and all three feature 2WD and 4WD drive modes, selectable through the Visco-Lok auto-locking front differential. Each machine boasts 1300-pounds of towing capacity and 200-pounds rear rack carrying capacity. There is 5.7-gallons of available rear storage available as well and fuel capacity for all three models is 5.4-gallons.
Other shared features include dual 214mm brake discs with two-piston calipers in the front and a single 214mm disc and twin caliper in the rear, a Digitally Encoded Security System which matches keys to a code in the engine module, and a multifunction LCD gauge. The instrument displays on each model feature a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip and hour meters, gear position indicator, engine hour meter, temperature and more.
Suspension duties are handled by Double A-arm in the front and Can-Am’s Torsional Trailing arm Independent system in the rear. The 1000 version comes with premium FOX Podium X Performance RC2.0 HPG Piggyback shocks on the front and rear.
The 650 and 800R X mr ATVs comes in Yellow & Black colorways while the 1000 is available in Digital Camo & Manta Green as well as the Yellow & Black. Pricing has yet to be released.
